Your home(s) while you travel

A summary of your accommodation information is below, with links to each venue’s website.

Hostels differ in terms of the amenities they provide, so be sure to look into what you can expect at each location. Pack some rubber flip-flops to wear as shower shoes, and it’s usually a good idea to pack a small towel too, just in case. Many hostels have body towels available for rent, and will list as much in their “amenities” on their website. Washcloths are likely not available so pack your own loofa or similar if a plain bar of soap won’t be enough!

Generally WiFi is available in hostel lobbies, at least for a few minutes each day free of charge. If wifi is not provided, nor already available in the rooms, you will have to purchase it to access it (hopefully a few minutes free each day will be enough, try not to spend all your time on your phones!). Alternatively you can easily find free wifi at plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, even monuments, in each city you are visiting.

Hostels are a great place to meet other world travelers, students, and young people with similar interests. You should feel comfortable mingling with others you meet in the common areas of each hostel but like you would back at home, use your common sense: don’t go off alone with any strangers, even if you’ve hung out with the same “new friends” each evening after excursions are over. Don’t invite anyone not already staying in your room back to your room. Similarly, don’t go into anyone else’s room at the hostel unless they are part of your program. Each hostel will have its own set of “rules” and it’s important to be mindful of them.
