Morning: Arrive in Paris, meet CISabroad onsite program coordinator upon arrival and transfer to accommodations
Afternoon: Orientation session
Evening: Group Welcome Dinner

Transportation: Airport to accommodations (RER train, metro, and walkng); accommodations to dinner (public transportation and walking)

Day 2: Tuesday – May 17, 2016
Day: Tour of Paris led by CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator and New Mexico State University faculty. Visit St. Chapelle and the Conciergerie, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Ile St. Louis, Le Marais, and La Place des Vosges. In the late afternoon, visit L’Institut Arabe

Day 3: Wednesday – May 18, 2016
Day: Begin with a visit to the Louvre, then walk over to the Musée d’Orsay for a visit
Evening: Visit the Eiffel Tower

Day 4: Thursday – May 19, 2016
Day: Day-long excursion to Versailles, site of one of Western Europe’s most elaborate palaces
Evening: Walking tour of the Montmartre district

Transportation: Paris to Versailles (round-trip RER tickets); accommodations to other visits (public transportation and walking)

Day 5: Friday – May 20, 2016
Day: Visit the Musée Rodin and walk along the Champs Elysées, followed by free time in the afternoon and evening to explore Paris with La Vida Local cultural activity suggestions available from CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator

Day 6:  Saturday – May 21, 2016
Morning:After breakfast, depart from Paris for Avignon
Afternoon:Arrive in Avignon, settle in to accommodations, attend a brief orientation session and take a tour of the city
Evening: Group dinner

Transportation: Accommodations to Gare de Lyon station (public transportation); Gare de Lyon station to Avignon (regional train); to accommodations in Avignon (public transportation and walking)

Day 7: Sunday – May 22, 2016
Day: Free day to explore Avignon with La Vida Local cultural activity suggestions available from CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator

Transportation: Public transportation passes provided

Day 8: Monday – May 23, 2016
Morning: Time set aside for classroom instruction
Late Afternoon: Begin walking tour of Avignon, including visits to the Palais des Papes, Pont St. Bénézet, Jardin des Doms, La Médiathéque Ceccano, and le Quartier des Teinturiers

Transportation: Accommodations to visits (walking)

Day 9: Tuesday – May 24, 2016
Morning: Time set aside for classroom instruction
Afternoon: Excursion to sites in Villeneueve-les-Avignon, including entry to Fort Saint André and La Chartreuse
Early Evening: Time set aside for classroom instruction, followed by dinner

Transportation: Accommodations to visits (walking)

Day 10: Wednesday – May 25, 2016
Day: Excursion to Nimes, including visits to the arena, Maison Carrere, Jardin de la Fontaine, and Musée des Beaux-Arts
Evening: Return to Avignon for dinner

Day 11: Thursday – May 26, 2016
Morning: Visit to the marché in Villeneuve-lés-Avignon and a picnic lunch at the Colline des Mourges

Day 12: Friday – May 27, 2016
Day: Excursion to the Luberon, Roussilon. Walking tour of Gordes and guided visit of l’Abbaye du Sénanque

Day 13: Saturday – May 28, 2016
Day: All-day excursion to Uzès and region by coach transportation. Visit to the marché followed by a visit to the château ducal. Afternoon: Visit to the Pont du Gard

Day 14: Sunday – May 29, 2016

Day: Excursion to Orange and tour of le théâtre antique and I’arc de triomphe

Day: Excursion to St Rémy de Provence, les ruines de Glanum, and les Baux de Provence.

Afternoon: Depart Avignon for Nice

Day 18: Thursday – June 2, 2016
Day: Excursion to the marché. Class time on the lawn of the château (weather permitting)
Afternoon: Visit the Musée Matisse

Day: Visit to Monaco, with free time in the afternoon to explore the city
