12:14 pm: Depart Rochester, NY for Florence, Italy on Delta #3753
1:45 pm: Arrive in Detroit, MI
5:00 pm: Depart Detroit, MI on Delta #132

Transportation: Rochester, NY to Florence, Italy (round trip international airfare)
Day 2 – Saturday, March 19, 2016 – Florence
5:50 am: Arrive in Amsterdam
10:00 am: Depart from Amsterdam on KLM #1641
12:00 Noon: Arrive in Florence! Meet CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator at the airport, and transfer to accommodations upon arrival
Afternoon: CISabroad Welcome Orientation, and neighborhood and city walking tour to get acquainted with Florence!
Meals: Breakfast (per airline)
Transportation: Airport to accommodations (transfer by taxis), to all other visits and dinner (walking) Overnight in Florence: Housing arranged by CISabroad
Day 3 – Sunday, March 20, 2016 – Florence
Morning: Visit Santa Croce and the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David! Time permitting, stop for lunch on own at Florence’s Central Market, and choose from one of the many food kiosks selling pizza, sandwiches, salads, focaccia, fresh mozzarella, cold cuts, and more
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Fresco course with Florence-based artist Alan Pascuzzi, arranged by RIT faculty
Evening: Group Welcome Dinner

Transportation: To all visits (walking)
Overnight in Florence: Housing arranged by CISabroad
Day 4 – Monday, March 21, 2016 – Florence/ Ferrara
Morning: Visit the Baptistery and Orsan Michele. Check out of accommodations and transfer to Santa Maria Novella train station for departure to Ferrara
Afternoon: Arrive in Ferrara and transfer to accommodations upon arrival. Get acquainted with the city by strolling around the central Piazza del Municipo and visit the Cathedral of Ferrara.

Transportation: Florence to Ferrara (train), to all other visits (walking)

Day 5 – Tuesday, March 22, 2016 – Ferrara
Morning: Visit Castello Estense
Afternoon: Visit the Church of Gesu and Palazzo Schifanoia

Overnight in Ferrara: Student and faculty housing arranged by Rochester Institute of Technology

Day 6 – Wednesday, March 23, 2016 – Ferrara
Day: Free day. Time for activities with local partners arranged by RIT faculty. La Vida Local activity suggestions available upon request

Transportation: To/from Ravenna (regional train), to all other visits (walking)
Overnight in Ferrara: Student and faculty housing arranged by Rochester Institute of Technology
Day 7 – Thursday, March 24, 2016 – Ferrara/Ravenna
Day: Day trip to Ravenna to visit the mosaics at the Basilica of San Vitale and Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. Optional La Vida Local visits to the tomb and museum of Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy and/or Ravenna’s seaside

Transportation: To all visits (walking)
Overnight in Ferrara: Student and faculty housing arranged by Rochester Institute of Technology
Day 8 – Friday, March 25, 2016 – Florence
9:25 A.M.: Depart Ferrara for Florence. Upon arrival, check into accommodations, and visit San Minato al Monte and Piazza Michelangelo
6:30 pm: Group Farewell dinner. Take part in an Italian cooking class and eat the meal you prepare!

Day 9 – Saturday, March 26, 2016 – Florence/U.S.
4:00 a.m.: Check out of accommodations and transfer to airport for flight home
