Day 1: Monday – May 23, 2016
6:30AM: Arrive in Dublin, then transfer to Shanowen Square Apartments to leave luggage
2-4PM: City walking tour
5PM: Group Welcome Dinner and Orientation at the Brazenhead Pub

Transportation: Airport to accommodations (one group transfer via private coach); accommodations to visits (public transportation and walking)

Day 2: Tuesday – May 24, 2016
10:45AM: Coach pick up and transfer to academic visit
11:30AM: Visit Mayfield Nursing Home in Dublin
5PM: Guided tour at Guinness Storehouse

Meals: Breakfast
Transportation: Accommodations to Mayfield (private coach transfer), accommodations to Guiness (public transportation)

Day 3: Wednesday – May 25, 2016
10AM: Guided visit the Little Museum of Dublin
3PM: Guided tour of Croke Park

Day 4: Thursday – May 26, 2016
10AM-1PM: Visit top Dublin City University’s School of Health and Human Performance with the opportunity to watch (and potentially participate!) in one of their MedEx Classes
Lunch: Provided at DCU
2:30-4PM: Visit to the Speech Therapy Department at Trinity College

Day 5: Friday – May 27, 2016
9AM-12PM: Learn how to play Gaelic Football, Hurling, and Gaelic Handball with Gaelic Games Experience
Afternoon: Free time to enjoy Dublin

Day 6: Saturday – May 28, 2016
Day: Tour the Celtic Boyne Valley, including visits to Loughcrew Passage Tomb, Trim Castle, the Hill of Tara, Monasterboice, and Drogheda

Day 7: Sunday – May 29, 2016
Day: Free day to rest and to explore Dublin, with La Vida Local cultural activity suggestions available from CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator

Day 8: Monday – May 30, 2016
11AM: Depart Dublin for Galway
Afternoon: Arrive in Galway and check into accommodations
5PM: Group walking tour of Galway
7PM: Group dinner at McSwiggan’s Restaurant

Transportation: Dublin to Galway (public coach bus); accommodations in Galway to visits (public transportation and walking)

Day 9: Tuesday – May 31, 2016
9-11AM: Lecture and talk with a local Physiotherapist
2:30PM: Travel to Ballinrobe Race Track for an opportunity to observe how physical therapists and doctors work with the jockeys and to watch the races

Transportation: Accommodations to visits (public transportation and walking); Galway to Ballinrobe (private coach)

Day 10: Wednesday – June 1, 2016
9AM-4:30PM: Visit Connemara (the Gaeltacht region with the most native Irish speakers on the island), Cong, and Kylemoore Abbey

Day 11: Thursday – June 2, 2016
Morning: Free time or potential academic visit
1:30PM: Depart on coach bus to horseback riding experience

Day: Free day to rest and to explore Galway or potential academic visit

10:30AM: Depart Galway for Limerick, with a stop at the Cliffs of Moher along the way

10AM: Visit Thomond Park Museum and Stadium for a tour

1PM: Lunch at Restaurant 14a in Cork followed by free time to check out the city
4PM: Depart Cork back to Limerick

Day 16: Tuesday – June 7, 2016
10AM-1PM: Visit with Lough Gur kayaking tour of Limerick (NOTE: please pack good shoes and a bathing suit for this excursion)
Afternoon: Visit the Frank McCourt Museum

Day 17: Wednesday – June 8, 2016
10AM: Visit King John’s Castle
12:30PM-3PM: Visit to University of Limerick for campus tour followed by a lecture with Dr. Karen McCreesh, the Course Director in Physiotherapy at UL

Day 18: Thursday – June 9, 2016
11AM-1PM: Meet with an Occupational Therapist at St. Gabriels School (St Gabriel’s is a not for profit school providing services and education to physically disabled or developmentally delayed children)
Afternoon: Free time to pack, explore, and enjoy final moments in Ireland with La Vida Local cultural activity suggestions available from CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator. 7PM: Group Farewell Dinner

Day 19: Friday – June 10, 2016
8AM: Check out of accommodations and transfer to the airport for flights home
