Tentative Program Itinerary (updated June 7- subject to change):
Saturday – June 18, 2016 – Welcome to Chiang Mai!
Day: Arrive in Chiang Mai, meet CISabroad on-site coordinators at the airport and transfer to accommodations (Jamie or David will be holding a “CISabroad: University of Oregon” sign in the arrivals area)
5pm: OPTIONAL- Meet in the hotel lobby to walk to dinner with other students who have already arrived

Transportation: Airport to accommodations (transfer via taxi)
Sunday – June 19, 2015 – Chiang Mai
Morning: Onsite orientation followed by walking tour of Old City, including some local temples (note: be sure to dress appropriately- shoulders and knees must be covered to enter all wats, or Thai temples)
Afternoon: Visit the Sunday Walking Street and explore this popular local market
Evening: Welcome dinner!

Monday – June 20, 2015 – Chiang Mai
10:30am Arts Relief International Visit
2pm: Child’s Dream Visit

Tuesday – June 21, 2015 – Chiang Mai
~8-8:30am: Pick-up at the hotel for a full day visit to the Chiang Mai Elephant Sanctuary (lunch included)

Wednesday – June 22, 2015 – Chiang Mai to Bangkok
10:45am: Fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok (Nok Air flight #DD8307)
11:50am: Arrive in Bangkok, transfer to accommodations
Afternoon: Short neighborhood tour, intro to Bangkok Skytrain (metro) and visit to the MBK Center
Meals: Breakfast
Transportation: Chiang Mai to Bangkok (flight), airport to hotel (minivan)
Thursday – June 23, 2015 – Bangkok
Day: Bangkok sightseeing to include Wat Pho, Grand Palace and Wat Arun- free time too
Evening: Dinner at Cabbages and Condoms with guest Erin Kramler from Mercy Corps
Meals: Breakfast, dinner

Friday – June 24, 2015 – Bangkok
~8:30am: Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing Singahaseni) Museum including wreath laying ceremony for Chao Phraya Memorial Day
~10am: Visit to Wat Phraram Kao Kanchanaphisek
Afternoon: Debrief time at hotel, student presentation on Mercy Corps
Meals: Breakfast

Saturday – June 25, 2015 – Bangkok to Siem Reap
10:10am: Fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap (Air Asia)
11am: Arrive in Siem Reap, meet Rith (your local Cambodia coordinator) and transfer to accommodations
Afternoon: Free time- bike to the local market/Pub Street
Get a good night’s sleep tonight for an early start tomorrow!

Transportation: Hotel to/from airport (minivan), Bangkok to Siem Reap (flight)
Sunday – June 26, 2015 – Siem Reap
Day (~5am-2pm): Get up (very) early to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat and spend the day exploring the ancient jungle temples of Angkor with a guide
Afternoon: Free time to nap, relax or explore a bit more
Evening: Debrief session with guest lecture by Ponheary Ly Foundation (owners of Seven Candles guest house) on the rooftop deck of the guest house, accompanied by traditional Khmer dinner

Transportation: Accommodations to visits (minivan)
Monday – June 27, 2015 – Siem Reap
Day: Visit Kor Ker school (run by Ponheary Ly Foundation) stopping at jungle temple complex on the way back
*Note: the minivan cannot access the school due to the quality of the roads. Be prepared to walk 1-2kms from where the bus will drop the group off to the school!

Tuesday – June 28, 2015 – Siem Reap
Morning: Visit the Knar School followed by the Cambodia Landmine Museum
3pm: Visit the Trailblazer Foundation
Meals: Breakfast

Wednesday – June 29, 2015 – Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
9am: Depart Siem Reap for Phnom Penh via private van (~5 hour drive, with a stop for lunch along the way)
Afternoon: Check into hotel, get settled and then group debrief session with student presentation on the Trailblazer Foundation

Transportation: Siem Reap to Phnom Penh (minivan)
Thursday – June 30, 2015 – Phnom Penh
8am: Visit to Tuol Sleng (S21) and Choeung Ek Genocidal Center (“Killing Fields”) followed by group lunch debrief session
2pm: Visit to GERES
Meals: Breakfast
Transportation: Accommodations to visits (minivan)
Friday – July 1, 2015 – Phnom Penh
9am: Visit to Better Factories office, with possible visit to a factory
2:30pm: Visit to Equitable Cambodia
Meals: Breakfast

Saturday – July 2, 2015 – Phnom Penh
Morning: Guided tour of the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, followed by lunch at the Daughters of Cambodia Visitor Center with possible guest speaker
Afternoon: Free time/final debrief session
Evening: Farewell dinner
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Transportation: Accommodations to visits (walking)
Sunday – July 3, 2015 – Depart Phnom Penh
Day: Check out of accommodations and transfer to airport for return flight home
Students will transfer to the airport via taxi (grouped by departure time)
