**For the construction project, clothes to get dirty in – old jeans, shirts, shoes, etc. For the caregiving and education projects, it’s informal but avoid wearing shorts and flip flops. Jeans, polo shirts, clean gym shoes or loafers, etc are fine. Even t-shirts are fine, but especially for women they shouldn’t be too showy – Costa Rica is a conservative country. We always prefer people are a bit overdressed than under-dressed. It’s a show of respect to the locals. For after-work and weekends, it’s completely informal – anything that you would normally wear at home on weekends is fine.
