The CISabroad internship placement process varies slightly by location, but the following timeline will give you an overview of what you can expect in the next few months.

At this point, you have begun completing the online application and are working with your Program Coordinator to finish the remaining application pieces. Be sure to keep in mind the application deadline for your program! 

If you haven’t already, you’ll want to book you Intern Acceptance Interview. After this interview, we will be able to grant you conditional acceptance, pending the interview goes well and we feel confident we can place you in an international internship.

Once the application is fully complete, we will accept you onto the program! At this point, you will need to confirm your acceptance by submitting a Program Placement Deposit. This is due within 1 week of receiving your official acceptance email from CISabroad.  Once we receive your deposit, we will then move forward and place you with a host organization.

Some locations will also require a Placement Interview either with our onsite team or the host company. We will coordinate all these details with you via email if and when the time comes.

The length of time needed for this Matching Process ranges based on location, time of year, the internship field and other factors. However, we confirm internship placements typically, 2-4 weeks before interns arrive onsite. 

As soon as the details of your internship placement have been confirmed, you will receive an Internship Confirmation Guide with specific information on your placement once your internship is confirmed. This document will contain information on the host organization including dress code, address, and supervisor. It will also include a basic job description and list of expectations for you.
