You have arrived! Here’s what you need to know.
You should arrive into the Athens International Airport: “Eleftherios Venizelos” (ATH). Once you arrive at the airport, your Site Director, Evgenia, or another member of our airport pick-up crew will be there to pick you up at a designated pickup time. Look for a sign with one of two logos on it:
We will coordinate the airport pickup with the Hellenic American team, so you may see an HAEC representative, or a CISabroad representative. They will take you to your accommodations where you can begin to settle in.
Please note that if you are arriving outside of the designated arrival window, you are responsible for your own airport transfer to your housing, but we are happy to help guide you toward a workable option.
If you are arriving early, but are planning to avail of our free airport pickup, please find a nice spot to hang for a bit as you wait for your ride into town, and make sure to message our onsite team so that we know you have arrived safely. It can be nice to wear your CISabroad t-shirt, especially if you are arriving early, as you might be able to find other CISabroad students who have arrived early as well!
Students who will be participating in the Walk Across Greece program will be able to leave the bulk of their possessions in their apartments in Athens, and can bring a smaller bag with you on the Walk Across Greece traveling program, as you will be sleeping in a new place every night, and will want to travel light!
In order to be guaranteed a pick up from the airport, you must arrive on the specified date within the specified time frame. If you have not already, please be sure to fill out the Travel Information Form on your Participant Portal!
