Ciao a tutti,
We are excited to fill you in on the upcoming culturally rich excursions you will have the opportunity to participate in! You will all be meeting the CISabroad Florence Site Director Assistant, Alessandro Bruno when you arrive on site. During your first few days on site, you will be taken out for a delicious welcome dinner with all other students in the program to kick off your time in Italy! Make sure to bring an empty stomach because there will be LOADS of food.
Alessandro has spent a lot of time in Florence and knows the best of the best! While you are there he will be helping you to have a true Florentine experience.
On the first Tuesday of every month weather permitting, Alessandro will host a la vida local activity. These activities include the market visitsa round Florence, a visit to the mountain town of Fieosle to see where medievel royalty went on vacation, San Miniato hike, a visit to Maiano Farm for an oil tasting, and “Best Gelato Experience” in Florence
Being in Florence alone is a piacere mondiale, but we think it’s important for you to stretch your wings out and enjoy the other gems Italy has to offer.
Lucca
Lucca is just northwest of Florence. It’s a medieval city still surrounded by its Renaissance walls that characterize the city. Within the walls the city tells stories of Italian history, and atop the walls one can cycle, walk, picnic, and imagine the history that happened. On your trip to Lucca, Alessandro will take you around the city visiting the famous piazzas and basiclias, followed by free time to explore the city and the walls.
