Chiara Clemente, CISabroad On-Site Program Coordinator
Born in Rome with family in Southern Italy, and raised in Upstate New York, travel began for Chiara at a young age where she was spoiled by relatives and summers at the beach in Italy! Her passion for international travel was further ignited after studying abroad twice: once for her senior year of high school in Istanbul, Turkey, and again in college at the University of Bologna in Italy, where she also became involved with local Italian LGBTQ groups. Chiara is a proud graduate of Italian and Asian Studies from Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts. Outside of work, you can find Chiara cooking (mostly Italian!), food sampling, going on various adventures, laughing and telling stories with friends and family, and dancing any style of dance ranging from Salsa to Punjabi Bhangra.
Chiara is very excited to be accompanying your group throughout the duration of your program as your On-Site Program Coordinator!
Alessandro Bruno, Florence Site Director
Born in Maryland, raised in Rome and having traveled extensively through Europe, Central America, North America and China, Alessandro considers himself a citizen of the world. During his travels, he acquired a passion for the environment and its preservation, cultures and languages. This passion led him to obtain a BA in Geography with a minor in Chinese Studies from Humboldt State University. In 2010 he spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Shanghai in China and he has become an even stronger proponent of study abroad programs, no matter where. Alessandro has also successfully completed the National Park Service Law Enforcement Training Program and a Wilderness First Responder course. Among Alessandro’s favorite activities are wake-boarding, kayaking, diving, traveling and getting lost on purpose in new places, eating sushi, learning new languages and cooking.
You will meet Alessandro on some of your activities in Florence, including for a fun food sampling tour!
