Prof. Amy Mumma, IAU College

Amy Mumma has worked and taught in the international wine industry for more than fifteen years. The Director of the Institute of Wine, Beverages and Gastronomy, and Founder of the Central Washington University Wine Program, Amy was awarded the Professional Wine Woman 2005 and 2006 title in Paris at the International Wine Women Awards and continues to serve as a judge for the International Wine Woman Awards.

Amy has a Masters of Business Administration in Wine Industry from the University of Bordeaux Business School, a Diploma of Tasting and Wine Studies from the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, and the Advanced Certificate from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London. Her undergraduate degrees include French Language and International Affairs. She had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in France and participate in a homestay with a French family.

Amy has been commended in the US Congressional Record by Honorable Doc Hastings for service to the wine industry and was named Western Innovator by the Capital Press. An international wine judge and presenter, she has published numerous articles for the wine industry and written five books on wine ranging from viticulture and enology, wine regions, marketing, sensory analysis and wine faults. Her goal is to help students combine passion and profession in the wine industry.
