You have arrived!
Students are expected to arrive into the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on the evening of January 1st. If you have sent CISabrod your flight information, you will receive an airport reception. Airport pickup is included in the CISabroad program fee, but is only available to students who sent their flight details to CISabroad a minimum of three weeks before arrival and arrive on the designated arrival date and times. Students outside those dates/times must arrange their own transportation to their accommodation. To help us make sure we meet you at the airport, please complete the Travel Information form on your Portal if you have not done so already.
After arriving at the airport and going through customs, you will leave the exit gate. The CISabroad Site Director, Chelsea Shea, will be there to welcome you with a CISabroad sign. You will then begin your week-long CISabroad orientation throughout Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast. If you have any problems, please refer to the contact information found on your Pre-Arrival Instructions, which will be sent out a couple weeks prior to your arrival.
*Note: Like many countries, upon exit from airport students may encounter a number of individuals asking to help carry tourists’ luggage for a fee. Students should ignore these requests look for the Site Director.
WHAT TO DO IF…
A Pre-Arrival sheet will be e-mailed to you, 1-2 weeks before you arrive onsite. This will contain more detailed information on your arrival as well as specific phone numbers and contact information if there are any issues with your flight or airport pickup.
