Visa and Immigration Information

A visa is “an endorsement on a passport indicating that the holder is allowed to enter, leave, or stay for a specified period of time in a country”.

If you are a citizen of the United States, you may visit Thailand without a visa for up to 30 days with a round-trip plane ticket. A visa is, however, required for United States citizens traveling to Cambodia and you should apply for your visa ahead of time. Please speak with your professor for guidance through the visa process and refer to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia‘s website for the latest visa information.

IMPORTANT: If you are not a citizen of the United States, you may be required to obtain a visa prior to travel. CISabroad is not a visa processing centre. It is your responsibility to understand the immigration laws surrounding your country’s requirements for visiting Thailand and Cambodia. Your program manager can provide documents you may need to support your visa application.
