Carlo James “C.J” Aragón was born and raised in Corrales, New Mexico and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree of Political Science and Foreign Languages (Arabic and Spanish). For the past 5 years, he has been traveling, studying, and interning in the Arab world and Latin America concentrating on obtaining fluency in Arabic and Spanish. He is an alumnus of U.S. government foreign language scholarships such as the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y), the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS), and the Boren Scholarship. He served as an official representative for the CLS and NSLI-Y scholarships advising potential applicants and promoting these programs. Additionally, he worked in U.S. refugee resettlement programs, assisting Arab refugees in the integration process to the United States. C.J. is passionate about Oman and is excited to work with students who took the initiative to study in the Arab world for their study abroad experience. He has lived in Oman for a little over a year, holding experience and knowledge of both Salalah and Muscat. In his free time, C.J. enjoys speaking/learning Arabic with his friends while enjoying the tranquil life of Oman.
