On the Summer in Cusco program, we will take you on two excursions and include quite a few cultural events during the week. There is also the opportunity to travel independently to many amazing locations.
The main excursion is a trip to Machu Picchu. This ancient and world famous landmark is best seen in the early hours of the morning, so be prepared to get up early! In addition, you will visit the Sacred Valley on a day tour to see the many historic landmarks and ruins there as well. We also encourage students to visit the many museums, markets, and historical areas of Cusco.
Peru has travel options for everyone, including the beach, mountains, big cities, small towns, some of the deepest, most remote jungles in the world, and the infamous Lake Titicaca. While you might not get to see it all, we definitely recommend making the most of your time in Peru and visit other areas. It’s usually easiest to book your independent trips once you arrive in Cusco, but you can start thinking about the places you’d like to go now!
